Self Help for
Sacroiliac Pain

Sacroiliac pain is pain that runs across your lowest lower back, just above the buttocks.  It can be on either side, both sides, or move.  It is often confused with lumbar "low back pain" and this can cause frustration when the expected stretches and exercises don't seem to work.

Sacroiliac pain is often accompanied by lumbar pain, IT band syndrome, or sciatica.  Treatment requires a specific evaluation and individualized treatment plan.  If your therapist recommends any tools for self-care, you should be educated on how to use them before taking them home.
