Chronic Pain

Lower back pain, neck pain, and headaches are a few of the most common chronic pain complaints that patients arrives with.  Unfortunately, many patients have had pain for so much of their lives the they consider it almost 'normal.'  It is remarkably easy to forgot what it feels like to feel good!

Pain is not normal.  Living with chronic pain is stressful and exhausting; it taps the body's resources both physically and emotionally.  It can lead to increased stress on the body, a decreased immune system, challenges to emotional wellbeing, and eventual deterioration of the body.

Physical therapy can address many sources of pain, as well as teach you to maintain yourself over time.  Our goal is to have you feeling as functional and as comfortable as possible, as quickly as possible, with as much independence with self-care as possible.  We aim to optimize your body and improve your quality of life.

How is this achieved?  Dr. Wakefield, PT will take into account your unique history as she evaluates your body, sensitivity, and movement patterns.  Once the source of your pain is identified, she will create an individualized plan of care to target the SOURCE of your pain and help you achieve your goals.
