Dr. Leslie Wakefield MS, PT, CSCS

I believe that the body has an innate, instinctive healing capacity, and that with the right treatment and guidance you can regain a life free of medication, pain, or dysfunction .

To do this I carefully evaluate to find the source of the problem, and then apply a specific treatment to stimulate the desired response.  The body can then do what it naturally wants to do- heal!  Medication may mask pain, but cannot cure it.  My passion is working with the body to facilitate true healing, so that patients can regain their lives.

I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy with a holistic physical therapy practice in Hollywood, Florida.  My training includes a Masters degree in Human Performance from the University of Florida, Doctorate of Physical Therapy from University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, as well as Polestar Pilates instructor training, Barnes Myofascial Release, Visceral Manipulation, and pelvic floor therapy.  I am a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and in that capacity have worked with professional and collegiate athletes and dancers.

My specialties include treatment of chronic pain, scar tissue, and pelvic health concerns.  I approach the body with the belief that we have an extensive capacity for self-healing, and that my role is as a facilitator in that process.
